The Quinte West Professional Firefighters Association, Local 1328, has launched its 27th annual “Coats For Kids Program. “
Since last winter, Quinte West Firefighters have been preparing for another busy distribution year.
The firefighters tell Quinte News the racks are almost full thanks to the generous donations of local businesses, groups and individuals who support the cause.
There is still a need for coats, particularly in size “youth medium.”
Donations are accepted all year round, and can be dropped off at the new Station No. 1, on Dixon Drive, in Trenton.
The clothing will be distributed at 390 Sidney St., Trenton (Active Storage) on the following days:
Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 from 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 7, 2018 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Parents/Guardians are asked to bring the child to ensure the sizes are correct.
The firefighters say the program was started in 1991 by local firefighters who had a passion to help kids stay warm during the winter months.
Each year, the Quinte West Professional Firefighters Association dedicates two days to handing out free winter coats, to children in need, up to the age of seventeen.
