A local gas company has made a donation to the Three Oaks Foundation in support of its second stage housing.
Union Gas has donated $2,000 to help provide short term housing to women and children who have left abusive relationships.
Union Gas Spokesperson Chris Doig says the company believes that “Community belongs to everyone who lives there and strives to make life better for our families, friends and neighbours.”
Three Oaks provides shelter and services for abused women in Belleville, Quinte West, Hastings County and Prince Edward County, having helped 274 women and 94 children last year alone.
Three Oaks says they have already almost exceeded those numbers halfway through this fiscal year.
