Prince Edward County’s Integrity Commissioner has been called upon to investigate a complaint against a member of council.
Council met in closed session Tuesday night to discuss a matter which violates their Code of Conduct according to Mayor Robert Quaiff.
He wouldn’t discuss details of the matter but an official statement was released shortly after the meeting.
Quaiff said they believe they will have a report from Integrity Commissioner Robert Swayze within 30 days and a report will come forward to council for further discussion.
He said council would respond to the Commissioner’s findings and any corrective actions recommended.
That report will come forward during an open session of council.
Quaiff told Quinte News he hopes this matter will be resolved before the end of term and by this current council as he says they don’t desire it to go forward to the new council.
