The accommodation rental rate in Belleville has had a tight vacancy rate for the past few years but that could soon change.
Director of Engineering and Planning Rod Bovay tells Quinte News it has a double effect on people searching for apartments.
But change is coming.
Bovay outlines a long list of projects that are underway or just approved and ready to get started, and some just about to enter the planning system.
These include 450 Sidney street which will eventually include four apartment buildings, the Hastings County Home for Good with 40 units, a project on Station Street with 103 units, and another 90-unit project in the planning stage.
Bovay mentions a total of 800 units.
