Canada’s oldest Convention and British Empire Cheese Show gets underway in Belleville this week.
Secretary of the Central Ontario Cheesemaker Association, Wendy Gibbons, says 31 factories from across Canada, and one from the United States, are competing for the prizes at the 91st annual event.
Gibbons says cheese-making is popular in Ontario.
The cheese was judged Sunday and will be sold at the Bayview Mall from Tuesday to Thursday.
The winners will receive their trophies at the convention meeting on Thursday, at the Belleville Travelodge Hotel.
