A dramatic, nail-biting extra-time victory gave the Centennial Chargers Junior Girls rugby team a Bay of Quinte title Thursday afternoon.
The Chargers got tries from Sierra Wood and Elayna Reid in the championship game against Bayside as the game went to overtime tied at 10 points apiece.
A 10 minute overtime wasn’t enough to break the tie and the game went to kicks. Laura Hill booted the lone convert to give the Chargers the championship.
Centennial got to the final with a 29-0 triumph over Trenton High earlier yesterday in the semis. Hill led the way with three tries, Reid and Kyla Fallow added singles. Wood booted two converts in the win.
