Quinte West council has made the decision to not kick a family out of their home at the end of the month.

Mayor Jim Harrison says the majority of council has agreed to extend the family’s lease.
A couple, a child, and the mother’s disabled father live along the Trent River on Front Street, in a house bought by the City of Quinte West last year to create a continuous trail along the river’s shore.
Harrison says he’s pleased and this is the best of the options in front of them.
