If they were able to vote, local students would have elected the same mayors in the three largest centres in the Quinte Region, last night.
Results from the Student Vote program were released with Mitch Panciuk winning in Belleville, Steve Ferguson winning in Prince Edward County and Jim Harrison winning in Quinte West.
Hundreds of students from six schools in Belleville, two in Prince Edward County and eight in Quinte West took part in the program, run by CIVX (civics), which coincides with elections at all levels of government and teaches students about the electoral process first-hand.
