Multiple arrests were made in relation to a drug trafficking investigation in Belleville.
Early Wednesday, around 5 a.m., members of the Belleville Police Service Intelligence/Street Crime Unit conducted a vehicle stop on Pine Street and arrested two men in connection with the investigation.
They were identified as 35-year-old John Kort and 28-year-old Joseph Easton-Vautour, both from Belleville.
Both men were charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Kort was held in police custody as he was also wanted by the Ontario Provincial Police. Easton-Vautour was released with a court date in December.
Following the vehicle stop, members of the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit executed a CDSA search warrant of a motel room in the north end of Belleville. A 34-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were arrested.
Both were released from custody unconditionally following investigation.
During the search of both the motel room and the vehicle, police located a quantity of cash, cocaine and cell phones.
