Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service from October 17, 2018 at 5:00 a.m. to October 18, 2018 at 5:00 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions.
On October 17, Belleville Police were kept busy with motor vehicle collisions. Eight collisions in total were reported throughout the city between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. There were no reports of injuries.
No issues in R.I.D.E program.
On October 17 at 11:00 p.m., Belleville Police conducted a R.I.D.E program in the area of North Front Street. Seventy-five vehicles were checked, and there were no reported incidents of driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. A 21-year-old male from Alberta was charged with three traffic offences including driving without insurance.
Shoplifting
On October 17 at 2:20 p.m., police attended a Millennium Parkway business regarding a shoplifter. A 35-year-old female was charged with trespassing. While there, police were alerted to another female shoplifter. Police located a 23-year-old female and charged her with trespassing as well.
