A 56-year-old man from Windsor is in custody and facing charges after an armed robbery early yesterday (Tuesday) evening in Belleville.
City police report a man entered a pawn shop on North Front Street at 6:25 and displayed a handgun and a knife, demanding that a display case be opened.
Several people were in the store at the time.
Police say the man assaulted a couple of people as he tried to rob the place but staff were able to disarm him and hold him until officers arrived.
There were no injuries.
