Brighton council will be asked to approve starting up the search for a new Chief Admistrative Officer at its meeting tonight.
The Municipality of Brighton has been without a permanent CAO since Bill Watson resigned after having testy relations with some on council a few months ago.
Gary King has been filling in on a contract as an interim CAO.
Staff in Brighton believe having a new leader in place along with a new council will help to rebuild the management team as there are vacancies in other senior management positions as well.
Meanwhile, council will be asked to approve a bid of a little over $970,000 for the design build of a 2,400
square foot expansion to the Brighton Health Services Centre.
The winning tender of the two submitted was from TaskForce Engineering of Belleville. The price wasn’t the lowest, but TaskForce was ranked higher on a cost/technical ability scale.
Meanwhile, Brighton council will also be asked to approve a tender of $314,000 for design work leading to upgrades at its sewage treatment lagoons.
