The Quinte Humane Society is asking for the public’s help.
According to Executive Director Frank Rockett, they are in a crisis.
He says the shelter is over capacity and the days and nights are only going to get colder.
Rockett says they are currently caring for 237 animals and 200 more cats are on a waiting list to come to the shelter.
He said their resources are stretched to the limits and they need the community to help by adopting a cat or making a donation.
Every cat in the shelter’s care needs a total of $485 to support their vet care, spay/neuter and food.
Cash donations make your money go further as Quinte Humane Society can make bulk purchases of food and medicine plus vets are helpful with low-cost services.
