The Belleville Police Service responded to 65 calls between October 12th 2018 at 5:00 a.m. and October 13th 2018 at 5:00 a.m.
Assault charges
City police have charged a 25 year-old local man with assault following a disturbance first thing yesterday morning.
Officers were called to a home in the central portion of the city shortly after 7 a.m. and an investigation revealed a man had assaulted a woman within the home.
The victim ran to a neighbour’s home to contact police.
The man is facing assault with a weapon, assault and breach of probation charges.
The identity of the man isn’t being released to protect the identity of the victim.
Breach of bail condition
Belleville Police arrested an 18 year-old woman for breaching conditions of her undertaking on Friday afternoon.
Officers responded to a call on the west side of the city before 2 p.m. for a woman who was breaching a bail condition stemming from an assault charge just a day earlier.
Katelyn Stacey Matier was violating a non-communication condition according to police and was taken to headquarters where she is being held pending a bail hearing.
Theft of wallet
Belleville police are searching for the suspect involved in the theft of a wallet yesterday afternoon.
Police say the wallet was stolen from an elderly gentleman on College Street West while attending a function.
Officers are using video surveillance to assist in the investigation.

Arrested on warrant
A 32 year-old city woman is being held in police custody after she was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Belleville Police say around 8:10 p.m. they responded to the Pine Street area where a woman was recognized as being wanted in connection to a theft investigation.
Jessica Leigh Whiteman was arrested for theft under $5,000 charges.
