A long-time farming family in Stirling-Rawdon has moved a step closer to operating a government licensed cannabis green house on their property, but many in the neighbourhood are not happy.
The farm off Hoover Road, has applied for a zoning change to allow a 7,000 square foot greenhouse and a 4,800 square foot utility building.
Stirling-Rawdon’s council chambers were full Tuesday night as the Planning Committee recommended council approve the rezoning, subject to the Matthews receiving all of the government licences and having a site plan agreement approved by council.
Many in the audience did not want the marijuana grow-op.
Stirling-Rawdon council will decide on the zoning at its meeting Monday evening.
