A Belleville teacher has won a national contest, earning himself and his school a $5,000 prize each.
Kurtis Hartnell is a French immersion teacher at St. Michael Catholic School in Belleville and was announced as the winner of the Post Search For Goodness Contest today, out of 283 nominations Canada-wide.
Hartnell was chosen for his craftsman skills and creative thinking to design a kid-friendly learning environment full of activities and for his use of imaginative incentives to challenge his students to problem solve and improve their French language skills.
Nine other finalists were each awarded $1,000 from Post Foods Canada.
