Two men from Quinte West face theft, weapon, and assault charges after incidents involving a boat docked at a private dock near the Trent Port Marina last month.
On September 6, a small nine foot inflatable boat was stolen along with other items, including alcohol.
Two days later, early in the morning, Quinte West OPP responded to a break and enter and a subsequent assault with a weapon at the same boat.
Two young men wearing balaclavas were alleged to have entered the boat in which the owner was sleeping.
The victim was assaulted and it’s alleged a flare gun was fired at him.
He was not seriously injured.
Facing charges are 22-year-old William Cross and 31-year-old Shayne Desormo.
