Students at VP Carswell Elementary School in Trenton are benefiting from a grant request.
This afternoon (Wednesday), Jennifer Sharp, Executive Director of the Quinte District Brain Injury Association, made a donation of 20 hockey helmets to the school.
The donation will allow those students who are unable to buy a helmet to borrow one, so they can participate in skating class trips.
Principal Ed Ashberry says this is an important initiative.
The Brain Injury Association Quinte District provides the use of helmets to children in the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board. It is their goal that all students can safely participate in winter sports.
The donation was made possible by the City of Quinte West and Bonn Law.
