Another day, another endorsement for Councillor Mitch Panciuk.
This morning the Quinte Labour Council announced they are supporting Panciuk to be the next mayor of Belleville.
President Margaret Bourgoin made the announcement at Panciuk’s campaign office and says he has some qualities they were looking for.
She says he knows what matters most to workers in Belleville.
Meanwhile, Panciuk says that some may find it strange that a former president of the Belleville Chamber of Commerce would have the support of local unions, but he doesn’t.
He says the best communities are the ones where no one is left behind and he is happy to have the additional support.
The Quinte Labour Council is the regional affiliate of the Ontario Federation of Labour and the Canadian Labour Congress and represents over 2,500 unionized workers.
Election day is October 22.
Panciuk is running against current Mayor Taso Christopher, Jodie Jenkins and Councillor Egerton Boyce.
