It was quite the scene Sunday afternoon near Batawa.
Somehow a pickup truck ended up in the Trent River, just south of Dam 4.
The vehicle was not totally submerged and was not sinking any further.
Quinte West firefighters in wetsuits and using boats, along with help from two civilians managed to
pull the lone male occupant of the truck to shore safely.
The male was taken to Trenton Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Quinte West OPP and EMS paramedics also responded. The incident occured shortly after 3 o’clock.
