Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On September 29, 2018 police responded to eight motor vehicle collisions. Four were deemed to be minor in nature as three were referred to the Collison Reporting Centre and the fourth was resolved between drivers.
At 11:52 a.m. officers attended at the intersection of Bridge Street West at Sidney Street in relation to a two-car collision. One driver was charged with following too closely. There were no injuries.
At 1:14 p.m. officers attended in a parking lot of a Dundas Street West business in relation to a two-car collision. One of the vehicles failed to remain at the scene and the investigation is continuing.
At 5:48 p.m. officers attended on North Front Street at Donald Street in relation to a two-car collision. Paramedics attended to treat two persons at the scene for minor injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. One driver was charged with careless driving.
At 6:03 p.m. officers attended on Dundas Street East at the Bayview Mall in relation to a two-car collision. One car was towed from the scene. One driver was charged with failing to yield to traffic. There were no injuries.
Shoplifter
Belleville – On September 29, 2018 shortly after 1 p.m. police were called to an east end grocery store with regards to a female shoplifter. Investigation resulted in 24-year-old Tia Terry being charged with theft under $5000. The Belleville resident was released on an appearance notice with a November court date to answer to the charge.
