The Fashion for Foundation event is returning on the back of a successful inaugural edition in 2017.
The second annual event is being planned for Thursday, November 8 at 7 p.m. at the Batawa Community Centre and is being held to support the Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Program (DVSARP) that is based out of Trenton Memorial Hospital.
Proceeds from last year’s event were used to purchase specialized camera equipment needed for documenting evidence for criminal cases. This year, more equipment is needed, such as a Colposcope, a tool used for better documentation of genital injuries, at a cost of $9,170.
DVSARP is a team of specially trained nurses that responds 24 hours a day, 7 days a week from Trenton to all four QHC hospital sites; Belleville, Trenton, North Hastings and Picton. They work closely with various community partners to increase awareness and provide information about sexual assault and domestic violence.
Tickets for the Fashion show are $20 and that includes a glass of wine, hors d’oeuvres, door prizes and more. Fashions featured are from: G-Boyd Boutique, Off the Hook, Red Stone Clothing, the Shoe Store, Vivacious and Willow.
Tickets are available at the participating stores above and the Foundation office at 392-2540 ext. 5401.
