Completing medical charts regarding an ill or injured person quickly is crucial to providing quality health care and Quinte Health Care management has a new policy in place encouraging its physicians to do just that.
QHC Chief of Staff Dr. Colin MacPherson told the Board of Directors Tuesday that doctors who don’t complete charts within two weeks are being sent emails to remind them to do them
After four weeks, a physician who hasn’t completed charts will be put on notice that a suspension of optional privileges at the hospital could be put in place.
Such a suspension could affect a doctor’s income.
So far, only a few of QHC’s 300 physicians have received a notice of suspension, and all have complied quickly and not been penalized.
