The Belleville Police Service responded to 54 calls for service between September 24, 2018 at 5 a.m. and September 25, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Arrested on warrants
On September 25, 2018, at 12:45 a.m. officers attended at an address on N. Front Street in relation to an unwanted person. A check revealed that the 22-year-old Belleville man was wanted by the Belleville Police Service on a warrant for three credit card offences. The offence date was in July of 2018. He was held for a bail hearing on September 25, 2018.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
On September 24, 2018 officers investigated four motor vehicle collisions.
At 5:25 a.m. officers attended on Blessington Road as a car had flipped after swerving to avoid several deer on the roadway. The car was heavily damaged and was towed from the scene. The driver was not injured. There were no charges.
At 9:10 a.m. officers attended on Cannifton Road at Byron Street in relation to a two-car collision. One driver suffered a minor neck injury. The other driver was charged with “follow too closely”. One vehicle was towed.
At 3:04 p.m. officers attended in a parking lot on Cannifton Road in relation to a collision where one vehicle failed to remain at the scene. The investigation is continuing as Police review video footage.
At 3:34 p.m. officers attended on North Front Street at Bell Blvd. in relation to a two-car collision. One driver was charged with “lane change – not in safety”. There were no injuries.
Theft of a motor vehicle
On September 24, 2018, at 8:39 p.m. police took a report of a stolen vehicle that occurred on September 23, 2018 on Stanley Street. Taken was a black 2006 Chevrolet Impala SS. It has Ontario licence plates CDKJ 617.
Missing person located
On September 18, 2018 a missing person bulletin was issued for 62-year0-old Joseph “Bryan” Bennett. This person was located on North Front Street on September 24, 2018 at 1:35 p.m. by police.
