Correctional Services Canada is reporting a staff member was assaulted at Millhaven Institution today.
A press release states the incident occurred around 9 a.m. and the corrections officer was treated at an outside hospital.
The assailant has been identified and appropriate actions have been taken according to Assistant Warden Vicki Liscumb.
Visits to the institution may be affected as the OPP and institution investigate the incident.
Regular operations will resume when safe to do so.
