The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between September 19, 2018 at 5 a.m. and September 20, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Arrest on warrant
On September 19, 2018 at 1:29 p.m. police responded to a male causing a disturbance on North Front Street. An investigation resulted in the arrest of a 36-year-old city man on an arrest revoked surety warrant. The man was already facing charges of mischief – under $5,000, assault and failing to comply with a probation order. The man has been held in custody pending a bail hearing set for September 20 in the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville.
Motor vehicle collision
On September 19, 2018 at 2:54 p.m. police responded to Herchimer Avenue for a reported collision involving four motor vehicles. Two were towed away. One involved person suffered facial injuries in the crash. A 27-year-old male driver was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with the offence of careless driving. Two other collisions were reported as minor in nature and were assisted by the Collision Reporting Centre.
Bicycle theft
On September 19, 2018 at 9:34 p.m. police responded to a North Front Street business where a bicycle was reported stolen while the victim was inside the establishment. The bicycle is described as a BMX style with foot pegs attached. It is green and black in colour. Anyone with information on this theft is asked to contact investigating officer Cst.
