The Central Hastings Fire Department is celebrating a milestone anniversary.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Centre Hasting Fire Department Station 1.
Two of the original firefighters, Stuart Kerby and Mike Kerby, are still active members with the department.
To celebrate the anniversary, there will be an open house with a barbecue and demonstrations on Saturday from 1 to 5 p.m. at Station 1 in Ivanhoe.
The theme will be fire prevention.
