The tourist trolley buses that took people around historic and tourist areas in Belleville during the summer turned a profit for the city.
From June to the end of August, the trolley tour buses did one hour loops that stopped at the waterfront, the casino, the downtown, Glanmore House, Zwick’s Park and other sites.
Transit Chair Jack Miller says that with sponsorship and ridership covering the cost of the buses, there was a profit of $450.
Miller says in the coming weeks the committee will meet with sponsors to look at ridership numbers, and to see if they will continue it into next year.
You will see the buses go to regular routes throughout the fall and into next summer.
