A 43-year-old Belleville man faces drug charges after an altercation on Russell Street Tuesday afternoon.
Belleville police say someone reported a fight between two men, with one man being armed with a knife and the other a hockey stick.
The two had separated by the time Belleville police arrived.
A knife was seized from Jamal Safi and he was found to be carrying cocaine and crystal meth.
He was arrested. No one was injured.
He appears in court October 15. The incident occurred shortly before 4 o’clock.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call Constable Dave Johnson.
Meanwhile, less than an hour later there was a three-vehicle crash on Farley Avenue in Belleville’s east end. One car hit two others
that were stopped for a school bus. The driver that caused the accident left the scene.
Any witnesses can contact Constable Lacey Montgomery of the Belleville Police Service.
