Total real estate dollar sales were down in the Quinte Region last month, but there was a healthy increase in the dollar value of residential homes sold.
The Quinte and District Association of Realtors says dollar sales for all property types were down 6.5% compared to August of 2017, at just over $88 million, but residential sales went up 14.8%, to over $82.5 million.
While the residential dollar sales amount spiked, the number of units was virtually the same, at 252 sold.
Less new properties were listed last month, than in August of last year, but overall listings have increased 5% to this point, compared to 2017.
QDAR says those increased listings will help improve the supply and demand ratio.
