Organizers of the annual Mayors’ Challenge golf tournament say it was a record breaking year.
The June 12 event at Trillium Wood raised more than $21,500 for Community Living Belleville and Area, surpassing last year’s tournament of $19,206.
The winning team was from Hastings County, led by Warden Rodney Cooney.
The money brings Community Living one step closer to buying a new accessible vehicle for one of its 19 support homes, which helps people experience new opportunities and become active participants in the community.
Next year’s tournament is scheduled for June 4.
