The Joint Rescue Coordination Centre at CFB Trenton is helping to coordinate the search for a missing boater near Ajax.
Search and Rescue officials began searching Lake Ontario last night, after an aluminum fishing boat was found along the shoreline, with a C-130 Hercules dropping flares and a Griffon helicopter flying above the water.
Captain Trevor Reid tells Quinte News, another Griffon chopper is continuing the search this afternoon, alongside the Canadian Coast Guard vessel Cape Storm, the Coast Guard Auxilliary and Durham Regional Police.
Reports say the missing man is 31-year-old Kevin Wong, of Toronto, whose car was found at a nearby boat launch.
