The scholarship was presented by Ann Trick, daughter of Jean Lynch. Ann, along with her husband David and her sister Joy Vervoot established the scholarship as a way to give back to the staff of H.J. McFarland for the care that was provided to Jean for nine years. (Submitted Photo)
The Jean Lynch Scholarship Award was presented at the H.J. McFarland Memorial Home today.
Employee Keora Kimball has been working at the long-term care facility as a student personal support worker.
She is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at St. Lawrence College in partnership with Laurentian University.
The scholarship of one thousand dollars is open to employees, their children or grandchildren who are pursuing post-secondary education.
Kim Mauro, the Administrator for H.J. McFarland Memorial Home says Keora has shown great potential as a long-term care professional.
