City police in Cobourg are asking for the public’s help in finding two men, who were trying to wear the badge recently.
Sunday night, around 8 p.m., officers were called to a home, after two suspects showed up to a door dressed as officers.
Police say they were responding to a call.
When the homeowner asked for their names, the suspects said they were at the wrong home and left.
Both were described as late 30s or early 40s.
The first was tall, with short brown hair, clean shaven, and muscular.
The second was also tall, with a smaller build, dirty blond hair, and a scruffy beard.
Police remind the public they are allowed to ask to see a badge and photo ID of an officer.
