Quinte West firefighters and friends were golfing for a good cause at the Roundel Glen Golf Course at CFB Trenton Saturday.
The annual event is a fundraiser with money raised either going to the Canadian Cancer Society or held in trust for a fighter’s family dealing with someone stricken with cancer.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen says the tournament this year was in memory of four firefighters who’ve lost their lives to cancer recently.
They are Frank LeClair, Jason Fourth, Steve Sine, and Ron Globe.
In total, almost $8,000 was raised, up from $7,500 last year.
