Conservative leader Andrew Scheer is saying he won’t reopen the abortion debate if his party wins next year’s federal election.
Yesterday (Saturday) delegates at the Conservatives’ national convention in Halifax narrowly supported the party’s current policy which says the party would not consider any legislation to regulate abortion.
One of the delegates at the convention was the Bay of Quinte riding’s candidate Tim Durkin.
The abortion resolution was one of 74 dealt with at the convention. Leader Scheer now says his biggest challenge will be to make himself better known to Canadians.
