Motor vehicle collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On August 24, 2018 police responded to seven accidents throughout the city. The following four incidents resulted in charges:
At 10:57 a.m. there was a two-car collision at Bell Blvd & Sidney St. One motorist was charged with failing to yield to traffic from a private drive. There were no injuries.
At 4:35 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Bell Blvd. One of the cars ended up in the ditch. One motorist was charged with “lane change – not in safety”. There were no injuries.
At 4:43 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Dundas Street East at MacDonald Avenue. One motorist was charged with failing to yield to traffic from a private drive. There were no injuries.
At 7:00 p.m. there was a two-car collision on Emily Street at Bleecker Avenue. One motorist was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. There were no injuries.

The Traffic Safety Unit has concluded its investigation into this incident which resulted in a road closure and eight people attending at various local hospitals with injuries. A 67-year-old Belleville woman was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with “drive left of centre on a curve”.
Traffic charges
Belleville, Ontario – On August 24, 2018 the following traffic stops resulted in drivers being summonsed to Traffic Court in October:
At 8:30 a.m. a traffic stop on Sidney Street led to a 58-year-old man being charged with no insurance and having an expired valtag sticker.
At 11:33 a.m. a traffic stop on West Moira Street led to a 41-year-old man being charged with no insurance and being an unlicenced driver.
At 7:03 p.m. a traffic stop on Bell Blvd led to a 33-year-old man being charged with driving while under suspension.
Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On August 24, 2018, at 10:40 p.m. officers attended on Tracey Park Drive in relation to several persons fighting. An injured male was located with facial injuries. He was treated at the scene by paramedics. The investigation is continuing.
On August 25, 2018, at 2:33 a.m. officers attended on Bell Blvd as a group of males were circling for a fight. The group was dispersed.
On August 25, 2018, at 2:55 a.m. officers attended in the parking lot of a restaurant on North Front Street regarding a large fight. All participants scattered upon police arrival. There were no injuries.
