Following a delay because of high water levels on Lake Ontario, the construction project to stabilize the Centennial Wall in Wellington Park is now underway.
The County expects construction will continue for approximately another month as contractors make structural repairs, including capping the footing along the entire length of the wall, carrying out corrective repairs to failed mortar joints, strengthening cracked blocks at the south-eastern portion of the wall, and backfilling and re-grading behind the wall.
The park will remain open to the public, but areas near the designated work zones will be closed off.
