It’s likely going to be a fresh start on a long talked about project to build new public washrooms in Belleville’s Zwicks Park.
City council had set a budget for new washrooms of $500,000 however all 4 tenders received for the work from contractors were around one million dollars.
Staff is recommending that council approve having consultants change the way the building is constructed and its size to bring costs down.
It’s still hoped the new washrooms could be ready for use next year.
Belleville council will discuss the issue at its meeting Monday.
