Local golf phenom Kendrick Webster is in a tie for 7th place after the opening round of the Ontario Bantam Under 15 championship at the Sawmill Golf Club in the Niagara area.
The 14 year old Webster opened with a 2 over par 73 and sits 6 shots behind the leader Alex Long of Toronto.
The 14 year old Webster of Quinte West was crowned Mens Champion at the Bay of Quinte Golf and Country Club last weekend, two weeks after winning his third Junior title at Bay of Quinte.
Bay of Quinte’s Rob McCracken is 9 shots back after the opening round of the Canadian Mens Mid Amateur Golf Championship in Victoria British Columbua.
McCracken opened with a 4 over par 74. Belleville native Michael Forbes shot an 8 over 78 in his first round. Garrett Rank of Elmira is the leader at 5 under par 65.
