Work is continuing on the Brighton Road Swing Bridge and that means some operational changes at the Carrying Place Swing Bridge.
Concrete structures have been poured at the Brighton site and the bridge deck was waterproofed last week.
Parks Canada says shop testing and field installation of mechanical and electrical parts is ongoing, with paving, railing installation and a few other steps needed before completion.
For now, bridge swings in Carrying Place are three-to-four times per hour, to help alleviate some busy summer traffic congestion.
Boaters should keep in mind that wait times at that bridge will likely be increased as a result.
