The eastbound lanes of Highway 401 will be closed again tonight as crews continue the clean up from a tractor trailer crash early this morning.
The truck went off the road between Palace Road and County Road 4, around 4:30 a.m. and OPP say a full closure will be needed starting at 9:00 tonight, as a crane comes in to remove pieces of the truck from the ditch.
The emergency detour route will see eastbound drivers directed off the highway at Palace Road, south to County Road 2, east to County Road 4 at the roundabout and then north back to the 401.
Traffic may be impacted on the detour route, depending on the amount of vehicles travelling during that time, but OPP say it was easier to close the highway during the evening, instead of the busy daytime travel period.
Police are thanking drivers for their patience and say the highway will re-open as soon as the recovery effort is finished.
