The man found guilty of killing a Belleville native in Burlington in the fall of 2014 will be sentenced today Monday).
Elizabeth Nugent’s body was found at her Burlington apartment and 45-year-old Malcolm Copeland was arrested at the scene after a four hour standoff with police.
Copeland and the 32-year-old Nugent had had an on again off again relationship and he had been living with her.
A jury found Copeland guilty of second degree murder on June 20 after five hours of deliberation.
