The Belleville Police Service responded to 64 calls for service between August 7, 2018 at 5 a.m. and August 8, 2018 at 5 a.m.
Motor vehicle collisions
On August 7, 2018 police investigated seven motor vehicle collisions. Five of these incidents resulted in minor property damage only. Injuries were reported in the other two accidents.
At 11:44 a.m. officers attended on Sidney Street at Bell Blvd. regarding a three-car motor vehicle collision. Minor injuries were reported but no medical attention was required. A 25-year-old man was charged with careless driving.
At 8:22 p.m. officers attended on Wallbridge-Loyalist Road north of Highway 2 for a two-car motor vehicle collision. One driver was transported by paramedics to BGH for head trauma. A 25-year-old woman was charged with careless driving.
Fifth person charged in July 31 fight
On July 31, 2018, police attended on the 3rd floor of 180 Haig Road in relation to ten people fighting. Four persons were charged that night.
A fifth person has been identified. On August 7, 2018, at 9:45 p.m. a 25-year-old Belleville man was charged with assault and being unlawfully in a dwelling house. He will appear in court on August 30th, 2018.
Domestic Disturbance
On August 7, 2018, at 9:02 a.m. multiple calls were received about a man and a woman arguing on Bridge Street East at Parrot Drive. The couple was located and they agreed to go in separate directions. At 10:41 a.m. police responded to another heated disturbance on Farley Avenue at Dundas Street East. Officers determined that it was the same couple from the earlier incident. A 24-year-old Belleville man was arrested to prevent a further breach of the peace. There were no charges laid in this matter.
