Another area corrections facility is in a lockdown this afternoon.
Officials at Millhaven Institution put a lockdown into effect around 2:00 this afternoon to conduct a full search of the facility.
No word on what spurred the extra safety measure, or if the search is just a routine check for contraband.
Assistant Warden Kyle Lawlor says visits have been suspended while the lockdown and search are underway and that normal operations will resume once staff determine it’s safe.
Yesterday officials at Joyceville Institution in Kingston put that facility into lockdown as well, to conduct a search there.
