Tyendinaga Township looks forward to possibly more cell mobile tower service, but wants some public input first.
At Monday night’s council meeting, a delegation from the cell tower company, Freedom Mobile, presented a proposal to install two cell towers in the township.
Township CAO Steve Mercer says it’s a federal matter, but Ottawa likes to see a letter of support from the municipality.
Mercer says the township wants public consultation.
The township supports the plan.
Mercer tells Quinte News the company is negotiating with private landowners for tower sites.
