Quinte West council is expected to choose the general contractor for the construction of a new OPP headquarters at its meeting Monday.
Council will see a recommendation from staff saying that Task Force Engineering of Belleville submitted the best proposal for the job.
A total of five design tenders were submitted. The report did not say if the Task Force price was the lowest, only that construction cost is set at $10.4 million.
City council has set aside $12.5 million for the project. Aside from the 20,000 square foot OPP building there will also be a new 4,800 square foot community centre built.
It’s hoped construction could start by October.
