The Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters carved up their annual donation to the PECMH Foundation by presenting $600 to Foundation Communications Co-ordinator, Briar Boyce on Friday. The funds were raised at the 20th annual Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters chicken barbecue held every year in May. More than 220 meals were feasted upon by the residents and guests.
The 35-member Woodcrafters group has asked this donation be designated to offset the purchase of priority medical equipment for the County Hospital.
“The purpose of the Foundation is to improve the quality of patient care in our community by raising money for the priority equipment at our hospital,” said Boyce. “The foundation plays a critical role in providing funding for priority medical equipment that is not paid for by the government. The Wellington on the Lake Woodcrafters gift will go a long way toward improving care for residents in our community who need medical care, close to home. Thank you to the Woodcrafters who year after year continue to support our fundraising. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a difference in the care you and your family receive.”
The Woodcrafters have been designating the proceeds of their chicken barbecue to the PECMH Foundation since 2005. With this donation, their cumulative giving total rises to $5,367.90 –and earns them a plaque on the Foundation’s donor recognition wall. The group have already started to plan their 21st anniversary barbecue for 2019.
