It’s been a busy morning for Quinte West firefighters.
After dealing with a blaze at the Trenton golf course, crews were called to an apartment building at 45 Creswell Drive, where smoke had been seen coming from the roof just before 11 a.m.
Fire Chief John Whelan says there was no fire, but power lines had been knocked down in the York subdivision nearby, causing the building’s generator to come on and start spewing smoke.
Hydro One is currently dealing with the downed lines, which have knocked out power to a large section of downtown Trenton.
The power should be back by 1:15 p.m.
