The Trent Hills Fire Department responded quickly and kept damage contained to the basement of a house in Campbellford Tuesday.
The call came during the supper hour to a house at 171 King Street.
Flames had started in an oscillating fan in the basement.
Firefighters put the fire out quickly and most of damage was contained to a part of the basement only.
There was some smoke damage in the rest of the house.
No one was injured.
